And what if that someone happens to be a huge, hot, Alien warrior? Frankie is about to find out...the hard way. Kerov knows his people used to have the ability to Switch bodies with their bonded mates, but he has no idea who the girl in his head is. And the fact that she's controlling his body goes beyond awkward...it could be lethal if anyone finds out. On his home planet of Tarsia, Switching is a crime punishable by death. But there are worse things than dying as he finds out when he gets stuck in Frankie's body as well. What is a Brazilian bikini wax anyway? And why does he have to remove his pants to get one? Will Frankie and Kerov ever get back to their own bodies? And what do the steamy dreams they've been sharing have to do with their destinies? You'll have to read Switched, Brides of the Kindred 17, to find out. “All right, sweetie,” Helga bugled, slapping the door shut behind her and going to the pot of bubbling yellow liquid. “Let’s get started on that love cookie of yours. Now which side do you want the wax on first?” “Hot…wax?” Kerov stared in horror at the attendant who was holding up a thin wooden paddle coated in the viscous yellow gunk from the pot. Gunk she apparently wanted to slather over the sensitive area between his thighs. “Yeah, hot wax. How else are we going to get your hairy little biscuit all nice and smooth?” Kerov clapped his thighs shut. He had never felt so vulnerable in his life—it made him wonder if females felt this way often. If so, he would never want to be permanently stuck in a female body. He felt so exposed. “You want to put wax where?” he asked again, still not believing it. “On your va-jay-jay, hon. You did pay for a Brazilian, right? So that’s what this is.” “It is? But…why?” “To get you all smooth and bare.” Without asking again, the technician dived in. Spreading his thighs with horribly strong hands, she started slathering the hot, gooey wax all over the soft little patch of curls that decorated the mound of Frankie’s pussy. Kerov yelped as the heated wax made contact with the sensitive area. But before he could jerk away, the technician put down the wooden paddle and grabbed for some thin cloth strips. She pressed them over the wax-coated area and rubbed vigorously. “Hey!” Kerov wanted to kick her—she hadn’t said anything about actually touching between his legs! He himself had refrained from handling that area out of respect to Frankie and now a complete stranger was dripping hot wax on it and rubbing all over it! But the next minute his indignation was forgotten in a wash of pure agony when Helga grabbed the end of the cloth and ripped it away, taking the soft curls as well as what felt like half his skin with it. “Ahh!” Kerov sat bolt upright, every nerve tingling in pain. “What in the Seven Hells?” he demanded. “All right now, honey, it’s all right,” the technician soothed. Taking him by the shoulder, she pushed him back down on the table. He struggled but she was a much bigger female than Frankie was and incredibly strong. “The first side is the worst, I promise.” “The first side?” Looking down, Kerov realized with horror that only half of Frankie’s soft, black curls were gone. Did this sadistic woman actually intend to repeat the process? Apparently so, because before he could protest, she had grabbed the small wooden paddle and smeared the other side of Frankie’s mound with hot wax. “No!” Kerov shouted, starting to get off the table. But again, the technician pressed him back down. She really was horribly strong. It was a new and terrible experience for Kerov, being physically overpowered. He had almost never known a time in his life when he wasn’t bigger or stronger than his peers. He struggled but to no avail—Helga was determined to torture him. “Settle down, honey and let’s get this over with,” she snapped, clearly running out of patience. “I don’t want to get it over with—I don’t want it done at all! I want you to let me up right now.” Kerov growled, glaring at her. But even his most intimidating growl came out sounding high and squeaky in Frankie’s voice. Damn but he was sick and tired of being trapped in a female body! “Sorry but I can’t let you go like this—if the wax dries before I can rip it off you’ll never get it out.” Helga gave him a warning look. “Is that what you want? A big wad of dried wax hanging off your hoo-ha?” Kerov struggled to master himself. Obviously he couldn’t leave Frankie’s body in worse shape than when he had entered it. There was already a lump on her forehead from the failed yoga pose. And having a dried wad of the yellowish goo permanently affixed to what this woman called her “hoo-ha” would clearly be even worse. “All right,” he said at last, forcing himself to relax back on the cold table and spread his thighs. “But hurry.” To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since. Book Title: Kept
Author: Jim Arnold
Genre: LGBT/Mystery-suspense
Release Date: March 20, 2016
Hosted by: Book Enthusiast Promotions
Palm Springs: Jorge Gomez leaves his poor family behind and remakes himself as ambitious George Gomes. Soon young gay George is picked up by Connor Hurst, who takes him to an empty mansion for a night of lust. Connor convinces George to work alongside him in a scam targeting gullible retirees with classic desert homes. George appears to be on a strange path to the American Dream, until his help covering up a violent death propels him toward bigger risks—perhaps even murder, one that seems justified, one promising a sizable payday. George doesn't know his role is to take the fall. Yet he isn’t as stupid as everyone thinks. Left alone, literally hanging on a wire with a corpse, George must fight enemies real and imagined if he has any hope of finding his dream—or even staying alive long enough to enjoy it. Pilar Greco’s folks never trusted Sy. Parents sometimes came in dreams like messengers, gods of the old world, those Aztec gods—warriors, yes, but also the odd cannibal and baby killer. Which made her shudder. Pilar Greco’s father could get away with wearing that kind of Mexican native monumental headdress—he had the features for it, even if he wasn’t wearing anything other than a simple sensible suburban shirt and shorts in her dream. She, in turn, took after her mother—small, finely featured, but with the very same jet-black hair, now accentuated a tiny bit with each salon visit. In her dream, they sat around the pool in the backyard of their Scottsdale home. Mr. Galindez never understood why his Pilar had married an Italian, a Jew Italian, but that was the least of his worries. He was wary of Sy Greco even as he appreciated his better qualities. It was in the eyes; it was always in the eyes. “You just have to look, look hard, mija. In the eyes.” Such was the memory that surfaced when the nosy Desert Sun reporter Nancy Argento called the office. Pilar didn’t usually answer the phone; she was distracted after nibbling on a Godiva someone left at reception. Worrying it might discolor her teeth, and what could be more disgusting than little brown bits stuck in dental work? She was distracted, so she answered the call, and it was this Nancy. Told an impossible tale of deceit by a crazy old bag woman; she must be a stupid writer to believe such a thing. From someone who lived under a bridge! This reporter Nancy wanted to talk to Sy; he was even there, present in the office. But Pilar was the one who did the talking for them. Sy didn’t know when to shut up; he always gave out just a shred more information than he had to. Information that could and would come back and bite them both in the ass. Pilar knew this Nancy was fishing, but there wasn’t going to be anything ever caught on that line. Greco & Greco invested in classic mid-century homes; what was strange about that? Everyone with a little bit of cash was doing the same thing—the new century’s version of a baby boomer gold mine. So there was no excuse when she got a little flustered, and who could blame her, anyway? There seemed to be a conflict of interest, Nancy Argento said. What was a realty company doing in the home-remodeling business, anyway? Whenever Pilar took a difficult call like this she focused on the photo framed on her desk, the one of her and Sy with their son, Angel Greco, sitting down in front, taken just a few weeks before he died. If she’d just held on to him like in the photo, her hand on his shoulder, squeezing his bony twelve-year-old flesh. His hair had been as dark as hers, but it had a little curl in it, courtesy of his dad’s DNA. Don’t ever let go; don’t ever let that beautiful boy leave you. Across the office, Sy stared, his mouth open, as if to ask, Why are you still on this call with this person, this person who wants to destroy us? She wanted to scream at him, slap him: She knows, you idiot; she’s on to us! But instead, she hung up; mid-sentence, she hung up on Nancy Argento, Desert Sun reporter. Pilar felt detached from herself as her shaking hand dropped the receiver back into its cradle; it was as if she were watching one of those old-style dramas unfold in slow motion on TV. Just as quickly her stomach sank to her ankles. Realizing what a stupid mistake that was. How she was not cool, not calm, not collected. So glad her father, Mr. Galindez, was not there to see her being the bad businesswoman, the one whose company would be destroyed because of that lapse in judgment. She would go to the ladies’ room, put herself together and call Nancy back. They were both professionals, after all. They’d come to an understanding.
* * *
Pilar resisted driving by the Las Palmas intersection where Angel’s skateboard had met the Range Rover. Sometimes she’d park there on her way home from Greco & Greco, if she had something to think about or if she was merely avoiding Sy. Despite the violence of what had happened, it was a quiet residential street. Maybe the boy’s essence still hovered there, his spirit. He might give her comfort, might give her an answer, even. To pressing questions. Like, for instance, if she should divorce Angel’s father. It was true: He preferred Connor Hurst to her, but the other truth was that she, in her own way, preferred Connor to Sy. So there they were. She smiled, a rarity these days. She watched herself through the rear view, as much to look out for other neighborhood kids being reckless—she would scare them with the tale of the death meted out here—as to check makeup. Lipstick needed a slight touch-up. The formulas still weren’t resistant to this Palm Springs brand of insane and constant inferno. Pilar knew her feelings were all wounded pride, and misplaced pride at that. They had a good thing going, she and Sy Greco, so intertwined at this point that even the mere thought of dividing it all up exhausted her. No, really, the alternative she and Connor had planned for him was vastly superior to any boring no-fault California divorce. She should get home, check on the orchids. It was their day to be tended to. She glanced at the dashboard: 114 degrees! She’d brought every pot of them inside at this time of year, but supposed one or two were forgotten in that spot in back of the pool. She insists she can change, that she’ll do exactly as she’s told. But becoming my submissive for a week will prove to her it will never work. I just hope I can handle losing her again after I experience the sweetness of her submission...She turned to see the last man on earth she’d expected. King Taylor stood in the doorway leading to a hall which she assumed lead to the bathroom. And probably a bedroom. She rose to her feet, her stomach clenching. God, if King was the one who’d bought Brenier Electronics, then she might as well walk out the door right now. He was never going to keep her on. Not after their history. “You know Ms. Clark?” Mr. Baird asked in surprise. “Yes,” King said as he strolled into the room. “She used to work for me.” Baird’s gaze flickered to her, his bravado fading. Clearly, he didn’t know whether to be worried or not. If she was in King’s favor, he must worry that she would use her influence to make it worse for him. He had nothing to worry about there. “Baird, we have a lot to do. I suggest you get back to your management team and start things in motion. In the meantime, Ms. Clark and I will have a chat.” “Of course, sir,” Mr. Baird blustered as he stood up and gathered his notes, then tucked them into his briefcase. Rachel stood frozen as the man hurried across the suite and out the door. Mr. King walked toward her and she felt heat wash through her. His broad shoulders and trim waist still filled out a designer suit magnificently. His dark glossy waves of hair, full and thick, framed his handsome face, accentuating his charcoal eyes that always intimidated her. Even when they’d slept together. Theirs had been a tumultuous affair, his blatant masculinity overwhelming her. Not that he’d ever exerted any pressure on her. It was more like she’d practically thrown herself at him. It had been after a late dinner meeting, where they’d consumed a lot of wine and he’d been a gentleman, insisting he see her home. But as soon as he’d stood up to walk her to the door, fearing she’d lose the opportunity, she’d kissed him, made brave by the alcohol in her system. He had let her down gently that night, later telling her he wouldn’t have taken advantage of her in that state. But the following Friday, he’d called her into his office at the end of the day and talked frankly to her. Telling her he wanted her every bit as much as she wanted him. And that had been the start of their clandestine office romance, both of them agreeing to keep their relationship a secret. Now as he walked toward her, she couldn’t help but remember how it had felt to be in his arms. To feel his lips on hers, demanding, taking everything she was willing to give. Opal loves crystals, dragons, feathers, cats, pink hair, the occult, Manga artwork, Zentangle, and all that glitters. She earned a degree in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, and spent 15 years as a software analyst before turning to her passion as a writer. She grew up in Toronto, and now lives in Ottawa with her husband and three cats. One of her sons just finished a Masters degree at Sussex University in the UK and is now pursuing a second Masters at Carleton University in Ottawa. Lauren isn't looking for love when she spends a scintillating night with Reid, the sexy keyboardist of Thane's Redemption. While their passion may be off the charts, her trust issues--and Reid's secret life as a time-traveling covert agent--makes any chance for a relationship impossible. When operatives involved in a mysterious project begin dying, Reid defies orders and travels alone into the future to find the cause. But when things go dangerously awry, it takes all of his strength to get himself back to safety--and directly onto Lauren's doorstep. While neither of them remembers their night of passion, their intense connection leads Lauren to help him. But as Reid's memories reignite, will he be forced to sacrifice everything to finish his mission--including the woman he loves?
Excerpt:
Reid hustled into his jeans and grabbed the fire poker. Just his luck to have a gun in the loft, but no bullets. He’d take his chances. He wanted this perverted, dysfunctional motherfucker.
The French doors rattled as he flung them open. He took the stairs by twos and threes from the deck. At a flat-out run, he hauled it to the side of the house. The full moon illuminated the night. A shadow popped out from behind the covered woodpile. He swung the poker. The guy ducked and blocked every swing as if he anticipated it. Then he charged. Reid connected with an elbow to the head. His opponent retaliated with a swift punch near the ribs. Reid’s breath hitched. More punches connected for both of them. “Damn it, Reid, stop. It’s me.” This asshole knew his name? “Who are you?” Reid felt the opening, and he went for a headlock. His opponent slipped out of his hold. “Thane?” Lauren approached with a flashlight. The beam momentarily blinded Reid. He blocked it with his hand. “Lauren, go inside.” “No.” She pointed the light and the gun at Thane. “How do you know Reid?” As Thane sat up, he gave Reid a quizzical look. Thane spat on the ground. “We were in the same band.” **** In the kitchen, Lauren dabbed at Reid’s bleeding lip with a cloth. “It’s not as bad as I thought. I don’t think you’ll need stitches. What about your ribs? They’re bruised. Are you sure it doesn’t hurt when you breathe?” “I’m fine. Take a look.” He lifted his shirt. “It looked worse than it really was.” Funny. It didn’t hurt like earlier. “Looks like you’re a fast healer.” Her gentle swipes grew harder. The sting zipped into him. “I can’t believe you ran out there like that.” He took the cloth from her hand. “I can’t believe you didn’t do what I told you.” He suppressed the hint of pride welling up. She hadn’t listened to him, but she also hadn’t shown fear. “You knowing Thane is a weird coincidence. At least he can help you fill in the blanks.” Her gaze drifted to the living room. Thane was on the phone with Celine. “Do you think you two can talk without wailing on each other again?” “Looks like we have to.” How were Thane and Lauren connected? Why did the two of them in the same room seem wrong? “You mind giving us time alone?” “Of course not. I need to call Celine after Thane is finished. Just remember to keep it civil. I don’t like seeing you bruised and bloody.” A frisson of irritation kicked up. “You make it sound like I got my ass kicked.” She huffed in exasperation. “Give this to Thane.”

ONCE BURNED is the launch title of her much-anticipated new series, Firehouse Fourteen, featuring hot and heroic firefighters. Lisa grew up with an overactive imagination, strong encouragement from her parents, and an insatiable infatuation with the Peanuts gang. That infatuationâalong with an impatience she has yet to outgrowâjump-started her love of writing. After all, why should she be forced to wait a whole week to read the stories of her favorite characters when she could create stories for them whenever she wanted? That love of writing continued to grow, along with all those voices in her head, even during her assorted careers: first as a firefighter with the Baltimore County Fire Department, then a very brief (and not very successful) stint at bartending in east Baltimore, and finally as the Director of Retail Operations for a busy Civil War non-profit. Lisa currently lives in Maryland with her husband and two sons, one very spoiled Border Collie, two cats with major attitude, several head of cattle, and entirely too many chickens to count.
