When several members leave to join Three Rivers, the pack faces the threat of dissolution until Brett's best friend and Lone Wolf, Luc Danes returns to Hudson River accompanied by a beautiful young human—or is she? Something about the woman consumes Brett. Has Luc come home to help or to take the pack from Brett? Colby Jenson wrapped up thousands of hours of community service working at the hospital in Maine when an injured Luc Danes rolled through the door. The impossible patient drove the nurses crazy, but when Danes offered her money no strings attached to drive him to New York, she agreed. The last thing she expected was to arrive in the small Westchester County town and to meet the craziest collection of residents—especially the devastatingly sexy Brett Dalton. Part of her wants to hit the road, the rest wants to make him smile and he keeps making excuses for her to stay. Then she sees the wolves...and is exposed to a world she can barely imagine. When Brett discovers a secret about her, nothing will be the same again. Now she will find herself torn between a world she isn't sure she can understand and the man who has taken her heart hostage... The build-up and bits of action kept me up late at night flipping the pages.” – Booked & Loaded "ROGUE WOLF is a fast paced, intriguing look into the world of shifters. Salvatore is old world a bit stodgy and Margo is very much new world and on top of that a lone wolf and Enforcer. How is it possible that these two could be mates? In author Heather Long's vivid and fun imagination it's very easy." - Fresh Fiction "BAYOU WOLF is in a word ... amazing. All the reader can do is hold on for the ride and enjoy the fireworks." - Fresh Fiction “If you love sexy wolf shifters, sweet love stories and action then you have to pick up UNTAMED WOLF by Heather Long.” - Annetta Sweetko, Fresh Fiction Excerpt from River Wolf: So not ready to be awake… A knock on the door intruded in her drifting and she groaned. Dammit, she was a guest. She couldn’t stay in bed all day. In fact, what she needed to do was get up, shower, dress and get her ass on the road. Florida seemed a hell of a long way to go, though. Rolling over, she shoved the blankets away then climbed out of the bed. Glaring at the light between the curtains, she rubbed a hand over her face, then stumbled to the door. Opening it a crack, she gazed at her host. Goddammit. He looked perfect. Dressed in a clean, nicely pressed shirt with the top two buttons open to reveal the faint curls of dark against his chest and smelling like heaven, he looked good enough to eat. His hair wasn’t even damp, though it fell in a soft wave toward his forehead. He’d been up long enough to shower and dress—and he wore a smile. “Ugh,” she sighed. “Please God tell me you are not one of those happy morning people.” The corner of his sensual mouth quirked higher. The effect on his expression devastated her sleepy senses. No human should ever look so damn good without coffee. The combination of rake and boy next door added to his appeal, but the trace of scars and mottled skin gave him a ruggedness she desperately wanted to smooth away. “I woke you.” “Not exactly,” she admitted, rubbing her cheek against the door and leaning on it a little more heavily. Everything ached and she wanted to go back to sleep. “I’m used to getting by on a lot less sleep.” And rolling out of bed to go to work for eight hour shifts that as often as not turned into ten to twelve hours on her feet. “I think I am tireder than I thought.” She yawned the last three words, and when she glanced at him again, his expression softened. Extending a finger, he traced the line of her cheek and it was a soothing motion, one which had her eyes half-closing in pleasure. “Go back to bed, Colby.” His voice washed over her. “I’ll be in my office working.” “I can’t laze about in bed all day.” No matter how good it sounded. “Why not?” “Because…” She had to go to Florida or at least say her goodbyes. She was a guest and not even an intentional one. “…Luc. I should probably check on him.” “He’s fine, the doctor is with him.” The indulgence in his voice evaporated, but the steadiness in his tone remained. “Go sleep. When you wake up, come find me. We’ll have coffee.” Tempting. So. So. Tempting. “I’m up now…but coffee sounds like heaven. Really, really strong coffee.” “Double pot? I made one, I can run it through again.” Colby groaned at the idea. Now that he’d mentioned it, she could smell the coffee. It proved even more alluring than the sweet vanilla and jasmine entwining the pine of his cologne on her pillow. Releasing the door to stretch, she would have thumped her tail if she’d had one. “Yes, please. If it wouldn’t be too much to ask.” Silence greeted her comment, and she found Brett gazing at her. Rapt admiration in his eyes as he trailed his gaze down her body and up again. Fuck me… She still only wore a t-shirt and panties and she’d just given him a show. “Crap. Sorry.” Slamming the door shut, she leaned against it. Adrenaline burned through the remaining traces of sleepiness, adrenaline and a healthy dose of lust. Having him look at her like that warmed inside and out. “Please,” his voice stroked her through the door. “Don’t apologize. I’ll go fix the coffee. Come and find me.” The invitation had her toes curling and she bit her lip. “I will,” she said, then added in a low whisper. “I promise.” “I’ll be waiting.” A shiver skated over her spine and she closed her eyes. Maybe she should have invited him inside to go back to bed with her. Inappropriate as hell, and impulsive, but she bet Brett would wake her even better than the coffee. He already has… Other Books in the Wolves of Willow Bend Series About Heather Long: National bestselling author, Heather Long, likes long walks in the park, science fiction, superheroes, Marines, and men who aren’t douche bags. Her books are filled with heroes and heroines tangled in romance as hot as Texas summertime. From paranormal historical westerns to contemporary military romance, Heather might switch genres, but one thing is true in all of her stories—her characters drive the books. When she’s not wrangling her menagerie of animals, she devotes her time to family and friends she considers family. She believes if you like your heroes so real you could lick the grit off their chest, and your heroines so likable, you’re sure you’ve been friends with women just like them, you’ll enjoy her worlds as much as she does.
Connect with Heather: Website | Facebook | Twitter | Goodreads | Amazon Resisting His Mate Part of the Bad Alpha Evernight Anthology PNR / Shifters / Erotic By: Lynn Burke Publisher: Evernight Publishing Release Date: August 21, 2015 Blurb: Warrick Keaton eludes a forced pairing with one of his kind. No one is going to choose his mate for him, not when he wants nothing to do with being tied down to a woman. He never expects fate to intervene in the form of a freezing, barely alive female. With his independence in jeopardy, Warrick fights his inner hawk's desire to stake a claim on her. Clare Byron longs to escape her domineering ex-husband, a jealous bear shifter determined to keep her prisoner. She seizes the opportunity to run and lands in the arms of another alpha—exactly what she doesn’t want or need. For Warrick, Clare is everything he's ever wanted in a mate and all that he's run from. For Clare, Warrick is freedom in a way she never dreamed possible—the one man who will own her heart yet give her wings to fly. Excerpt: No fucking way, Warrick grumbled to himself as his feathers retracted, and human skin once more covered his body. A female, the one thing he had no interest in—the thing that he’d traveled across the country to escape. And she floated down the river, sporting a black and blue eye, appearing half-frozen and ready to take a short jaunt with the grim reaper. Warrick ran his fingers through his shoulder-length hair, cursing his damn luck. Only back at his summer home for two days, finally getting time away from his demanding job with the CIA, and a battered female is tossed in his path? Even worse, his inner bird had decided to bond with the woman and latched onto her soul like a motherfucker. With a growl, Warrick sprinted toward the river. Naked and shoeless, he jumped over brush and fallen logs, focused on the female his animal half demanded he rescue. He reached the shore. The log she’d clung to lay half-submerged far downriver. Maybe he was too late, and she’d given in to the freezing water. “Couldn’t be that lucky,” he grumbled, taking off south. Dragging marks showed where she’d pulled herself up and out of the river. Stepping on light feet, and ears straining, Warrick followed her trail to a dip in the land where leaves had piled. The wet tracks disappeared, and he squatted down, scanning the ground for sign of her. A lock of dark hair caught his eye. The female had buried herself beneath the leaves, but she didn’t stir. Passed out or dead? “Hopefully the latter,” Warrick mumbled, staring at the matted hair. He recalled the fear and anxiety that had shown through her eyes. Eyes the same damn color as his. “Fuck.” Without another thought, he reached through the leaves and lifted her into his arms. Her head lolled back. A weak pulse beat in her neck. The stench of unwashed body and … bear wafted past his nose. Instant rage kicked his stomach. “Goddamn bears.” Jaw clenched, Warrick clutched her freezing form close and cursed the lush curve of her ass beneath his hand. Fucking prick had a mind of its own and obviously didn’t give a shit about body odor or the fact she’d recently been with his northern enemies. “I don’t have time for this shit,” he ground out between his teeth while starting toward home. He needed to unload the burden, and quick. His brother was better with women—he’d drop her at Heath’s and hightail it to his own place before the woman opened her eyes and swamped his soul with emotion again. About Lynn Burke:

Excerpt: Gavin Meets Mitch
Before I can ask any more questions, there’s a knock and the door opens a crack. “Mr. Evans, Mr. Hale is here.”
“Send him in please, Donna.” Ross stands and adjusts his suit, straightening out the cuffs and fixing his expensive tie until it lays just so. I rake a hand over my hair, but it’s pointless. I’m lucky I bothered to shower this morning after my company left. I’m sure I look like shit—with the lack of sleep and the constant stress I’m surprised I don’t look worse. Good genes, I guess. I frown at the thought of my father. I can hear Donna outside. “Go right on in.” The door opens and a man enters. No, not just a man. A gorgeous man. Stunning, actually. For the second time in five minutes, my jaw hangs open. The man is a study in opposites. His hair, swept back from his face and so dark it’s nearly black, is paired with bright slate grey eyes, a color I’ve never seen before. He looks rugged and dangerous, as if he could kill a man with his bare hands. Yet he’s wearing a tailored and expensive charcoal grey suit that showcases his body to perfection. He’s rough and he’s polished. And I can’t stop staring. “Mr. Hale, thank you so much for coming on such short notice.” Ross has circled the table and is shaking the man’s hand. “Call me Mitch, please.” Jesus, even his voice is hot. Deep and silky, it’s as smooth as fine whiskey. “This is Gavin Walker,” Ross introduces me, stepping aside. It takes both of them staring at me and an uncomfortably long silence for me to realize I’m still gawking. Embarrassed, I snap my mouth shut. “Sorry.” Jumping up from my chair, I extend a hand. “Gavin Walker. Thanks for coming.” He clasps his hand around mine, large and hot and coarse, and pumps it firmly. “Mitch Hale, good to meet you. Wish it were under better circumstances.” He smiles and I have the sudden urge to rub myself all over his beautiful, hard body. Heat spreads up from our joined hands, sending a flush of pleasure over my skin. Mitch clears his throat and glances down where I’m still clutching his hand. Shit. I let go, flinching back in humiliation. I jam my hand into the pocket of my jeans, fingering the smooth, heart-shaped stone I keep there. “Let’s sit.” Ross directs Mitch to the conference table. “Drink?” Mitch holds up a hand. “I’m good.” I catch the slightest twitch in one of Mitch’s intriguing eyes. “Okay. Here is the file we have so far.” Ross pushes a folder across the table. Mitch opens it, scanning the contents. Waiting for him to read about the stalker that’s been harassing me is humiliating, yet it gives me a chance to study the man further. I should resist staring, but I can’t. He’s too gorgeous to ignore. I flick my gaze over to Ross, who is busy returning emails on his laptop. Good. I don’t want Ross to catch me ogling the new guy. When my eyes land back on Mitch, I have to hold in a groan. This guy is trying to kill me. As he flips through the pages in the file—photos, descriptions, police reports—the end of his very wet, very pink tongue pokes out between his lips. Every once in a while, it sneaks back in so he can pull that lush red bottom lip between his teeth, biting on it in concentration. Jesus. As subtly as I can, I shift on the chair to adjust the semi pressing against my pants. More contradictions. That tongue, the biting of the lip, both so playful and innocent against the serious image he projects with the suit and the perfectly styled hair and the—I inhale deeply—hint of designer aftershave. Suddenly, Mitch closes the folder and sits up, folding his hands on top of it. I jerk away, sitting back in my chair instead of leaning halfway over the table like a besotted teenage girl. “This man is not to be taken lightly,” he cautions, his intelligent gaze traveling back and forth between Ross’ and mine. Ross closes his laptop, giving Mitch his full attention. “We’re not taking it lightly. Gavin has security with him at all times since the…” Ross glances at me, “the incident in New York.” “And before that?” Mitch asks. I stare at the hard line of his jaw then drop my eyes down to the curve of his throat where it disappears into the top of his crisp dress shirt. I pray that he doesn’t see the way my hands shake or the heat prickling my face as lust washes over me. “Before that we weren’t documenting anything we received, just throwing them away. They were mostly letters, gifts…” Ross trails off. “But no involvement by law enforcement?” My eyes bounce back and forth between the two men. Ross sighs. “Not until the New York incident.” When Mitch scowls, a look that makes him look even more dangerous and a hell of a lot sexier, Ross elaborates. “Do you know how many crazy fans are out there? Hell, Adam gets over a hundred bizarre gifts and letters a week. That’s just the strange ones. Plus, keeping this out of the media is important to the record label.” Mitch nods. “I understand. I’m not judging. I’m just trying to get a feel for what I’ll be dealing with. That includes how long law enforcement has been checking into this guy.” “Not long,” I whisper, surprised to hear myself speak. I’m used to being discussed as if I’m not in the room. It comes with the job—decisions made for you without your input. Two sets of eyes focus on me and I feel my cheeks blaze hot. That intense grey stare has me squirming, and this time it’s not from embarrassment. Another rush of heat ripples down my spine. I run my hands through my hair to catch the beads of sweat that have popped up on my temples. Mitch opens his mouth to say something then snaps it shut. He blinks a few times before speaking. “Tell me how this began, Gavin. What you’ve noticed personally.” “Shit, how long do you have?” I scoff. The corner of Mitch’s mouth quirks up. “I have time.” He puts two fingers into the collar of his shirt and tugs gently. The subtle motion brings images of Mitch tearing off his clothes, sending another wave of sizzling need through me. Nodding, I take a sip of water to cool down the desire inspired by Mitch’s proximity. Ross’ cell phone rings, startling me. I fumble with the glass, nearly spilling it. “Damn. Sorry.” This time, Mitch smiles. My eyes fixate on that mouth as his lips part to reveal two rows of perfect teeth. “I have to take this,” Ross confesses. He glances over. “You okay to do this without me?” No. I’m not okay. You’re going to leave me in a room with one of the hottest guys I’ve ever seen while I’m a nervous, blundering wreck. That’s what I’m thinking. What I say isn’t even close. “Yeah. I’m good.” Ross stares at Mitch. “I’ll be back to discuss the specifics of your contract.” “No problem,” Mitch agrees. Leaning back in his chair, he crosses one ankle over his knee. Holy-- Now he’s given me a direct view of his crotch, hugged tight by those tailored grey slacks. There’s a lot to look at. Jesus. If what I’m seeing isn’t an illusion, he is hung. I don’t realize that I’m staring right at Mitch’s dick until his leg drops and he leans forward, elbows on his knees. “It’s okay to be nervous.” Blinking, I look up to see those deep gunmetal eyes waiting patiently for me to respond. “Ummmm, I’m not nervous.” I am, but not for the reasons you think. Mitch puts his large hands back up on the table, his eye twitching again. “Do you mind if I get a drink?” He gestures towards the tray Donna set out. “Not at all.” “So,” he continues as he removes his jacket, hangs it over his chair, and circles the table. “Tell me about the letters.” Mitch picks up a mug, turning his back to me to prepare his coffee. My mouth goes dry at the sight of his perfect, round ass showcased by the tight grey fabric that clings to every curve. “Gavin?” I can’t do this here with him. Alone. With that ass, those eyes, and the scent of whatever cologne he’s wearing. My brain won’t function properly while bombarded from all sides by filthy sexual fantasies starring Mitch. “I-I forgot. I have somewhere to be.” Jumping up, I catch a surprised expression on Mitch’s face right before I bolt out the door.

MICHELLE SHARP
Hi everyone. My name is Michelle Sharp and I’m the author of the new Dream Seeker Series. I’ve thought long and hard about this worst pick-up line thing. Time and again, I keep coming back to one infamous night. Not because it was terribly exciting or anything, but because me and my best friend still laugh about it today.
So first off, let me set the scene. I’m an eighties girl. Big hair. Z-Cavaricci Jeans. (Wow, I loved those jeans.) The flash dance off the shoulder shirts. I would post a picture but it doesn’t reflect well on me. LOL. Come on…I’m not the only eighties girl here, am I? Man, I feel old.
So I’m in college, out with my friends and its girl’s night—no guys tonight. And of course there’s… “that guy.” You know, the one who is not nearly as hot as he thinks he is. Not quite as funny as he’d like to be. And just a little too sweaty. His specialty is capturing random, unsuspecting women on the dance floor if they are unfortunate enough to accidently turn in his direction. Yes, that would be me and my friend, who is still my BFF today.
So, in order to not be rude, we kind of dance… well, sort of next to the guy, not really WITH him, but not wanting to totally dis his Michael Jackson moves either. When the song ends, we make a hasty retreat to the bathroom. But when we finish and exit, he’s waiting for us. Apparently he mistook our “dance” as an invitation to a threesome. He puts his arms up to trap us in the small hallway we’re in. In his most stud-like voice he says, “Stop. It’s Hammer time.” My friend and I of course look at each other and without missing a beat, push him hard in the chest and reply in unison, “Can’t touch this.”
Okay, so I told you, not that great of a story. But Cindy and I still say to each other, “Hey, remember the MC Hammer dude?” And I got to say, I quite miss the eighties. So I’m going to post some pictures of things I loved most about the eighties. And if I can figure out how to scan, I will post some totally hideous pictures of myself in the eighties.
Now, whoever posts the funniest eighties picture, (the one that makes me spew coffee on my keyboard) I will send an autographed copy of Dream Huntress. Come on eighties girls…I know you’re out there. And by the way, to get you in the mood, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otCpCn0l4Wo -I dare you to watch that and not smile ;)

Growing up in St. Louis has made her a die-hard Cardinals fan, and having a child with Down Syndrome has made her passionate about any issue regarding special needs kiddos. KRISTINE BRIA
You know the beginning of the movie Grease where Sandy and Danny are having their beautiful romantic innocent fling? The brief relationship that was so beautiful, they each wrote a song about it? Mine wasn't like that.
We didn't have a moment where we locked eyes across a crowded room. We didn't see each other standing on the beach. He wasn't a millionaire trying to woo me with a bottle of champagne. None of those were even close.
I was at the beach with my sister and some friends. Being hot, young, single girls, we went to one of those "meat market" clubs that exist for the sole purpose of encouraging sunburned college students to party. A friend of a friend knew the owner and took us to the second floor of the club to visit with him in his office. We enjoyed it, mostly because he was a fun guy. I guess you would have to be to run a joint like that. On the way back down the spiral staircase, I was the last in line.
I would never describe myself as particularly coordinated. That night was not an exception. Narrow spiral staircases are tedious even for the graceful, at least that's what I tell myself. These steps were a beautiful black cast iron with scrollwork that was all but imprinted on my backside as I slipped and nailed the last three with my rear.
My sister isn't mean; she just has a wicked sense of humor. Nevermind that this type thing doesn't ever happen to her. She had an image to uphold so she kept walking and didn't look back. I sat there on the floor of the club in my pale pink mini-skirt stunned, embarrassed, and alone. While I wondered if 1) I was hurt, and 2) if it was possible to regain my dignity, the crowd parted for a muscular, tan guy with brown hair and green eyes who leaned down and gently asked, "Are you okay?"
The consummate gentleman, he helped me off the floor then asked, "Will you dance with me?"
Beautiful, right?
Not when he's the guy that you and your sister had spent the evening evading because he had that certain something...that you don't want in a guy. He wasn't ugly or impolite. He was just plain uncool. We didn't want to be seen with him let alone be with him. And I had no graceful way out.
Sure, I could've blown him off, but I couldn't have done it with a clean conscience. The guy had done nothing to deserve any disrespect from me. He had linked himself with the club's token klutz. I had no room to judge. So I danced.

Newcomer Kristine Bria is pleased to present Not Quite Home, Book 1 of her new contemporary romance series, Moss Point.
Architect Adam Moultrie’s bad-boy past is catching up with him and his blossoming career. Inheriting the Moss Point plantation he never wanted, he can’t get rid of it fast enough. Her mom, Adam’s ex from high school, seizes the opportunity to get revenge on the guy who abandoned her at the plantation on prom night fifteen years earlier. With a professional partnership in Portland slipping through his fingers, he heads to his hometown on the Georgia coast to resolve the lawsuit as quickly as possible.
Kate Braswell gave up everything to open Local Flavor, her coffeehouse showcasing art, but her builder shatters his leg—and possibly her dreams. Facing bankruptcy and failure, Adam is the only one who can save her and her shop. He becomes her unlikely hero, but the last thing he needs is a sexy woman in pink lip-gloss. About Kristine Bria
Kristine Bria was the annoying teacher's pet who always made straight As. Sure, she used to ride to and from school with the principal--it wasn't her fault they lived next door to each other. Carpooling made sense. She shared her toys and played well with others. In short, she was a good girl.
When you have been a good girl, people around you have high expectations of you. Kristine knows all about how stressful it can be when friends, family, and bosses want different things at the same time. What do you do? How do you decide? What happens when you don't (because you can't) make everyone happy? There are fabulous stories all around us, and she loves to tell them.
Kristine also likes to write about who we are in public versus who we are in private. With whom do we reveal our true selves? Why does someone get to see the real us inside?
Hint: It must be love.
P.S. Kristine is good...but not too good. It turns out she has a bit of a wild streak that likes to come out and play as Kristi Hancock. Kristi writes erotic novellas where good girls are very, very bad and bad boys are very, very good.
REBECCA THOMAS
My name is Rebecca Thomas. I’m the author of two historical romance novellas with Entangled Publishing and I’m about to launch my Alaskan Hero contemporary romance series. So excited about this! I’ve lived in Alaska my entire life. My husband bugged me for years to write an Alaska story. Finally I did, and now I have an entire series planned. The first book in the series is Her Alaskan Hero and it will release on August 25th. I also have a novella entitled Sweet Home Alaska, as part of this series that is available now in a boxed set entitled Small Town Summer.
I recently attended a writer’s conference at a very nice, very large hotel. Hundreds of women roamed every floor and hallway of this hotel. It was about eight o’clock at night when I tried to check into my room. However, my room wasn’t ready and my roommate hadn’t arrived yet, so even though this was annoying, I wasn’t about to let these circumstances bring down my happy mood. I was at a writer’s conference and I was on vacation.
So I waited in the lobby with a book in hand and almost immediately I was approached by a man who asked if I was here for the writer’s conference. I said, yes. He introduced himself by saying, “I’m Anthony, I’m an attorney and I’m from the Bahamas.” And then almost as an afterthought he asked, “What’s your name?”
I gave him my name, then he immediately asked, “Do you have a roommate?”
So there is nothing so horrible about this conversation except clearly he was trying to impress me with his profession and/or place of residence. And who knows if he was actually trying to pick me up, but of course I told him I had a roommate and I expected her to arrive at any moment. So Anthony went along his way and left me in the lobby.
As I watched him leave, my romance writer’s imagination took over. I envisioned myself saying. “No, I don’t have a roommate.”
As a side note, in my head he was much more attractive and gorgeous and sexy too. Next thing I know he invites me for a ride in his private jet where he takes me to his mansion in the Bahamas. And you know the rest of the story—we lived happily ever after of course.
But back to reality, I mean, really, what did he expect me to say? And if I did say, no, I don’t have a roommate. What would he have said? I guess I will never know, I can only imagine.
Was there ever a time you wish you’d said something else in a similar situation? So the story would have ended differently?
Her Alaskan Hero Blurb
After being left at the altar, California girl Sabrina Tate needs to make a fast getaway. With her famous overbearing parents and the paparazzi hot on her heels, where else is a jilted bride to go to lick her wounds but Alaska? With only her tropical honeymoon clothes in tow, she makes her escape. For two weeks, she’ll live on her own and prove to herself—and her family—that she can make it without a husband.
Zak Forrester is a man on a mission. He’s turned his rugged yet luxurious Alaskan lodge into a hotspot for hunters, all in the hope to make up for a painful event in his past. But when Sabrina—one of the rare women to enter his rugged realm—stumbles into his world, he can’t get rid of her fast enough. He has no time for her yoga, vegetarian meal requests, or Scrabble.
Soon, neither can resist the other, and two hearts collide. With time ticking away, they have to decide where they belong. Is a life in a different world better than being a world apart?
About Rebecca Thomas
Rebecca Thomas enjoys a love-hate relationship with Alaska. She lives there with her bush pilot husband and two teenaged sons. When she isn’t reading, writing, or playing board games, she is cheering for her sons at their hockey games and tennis matches.
A reluctant reader as a child, she didn’t become interested in books until her teen years when she discovered historical romance. Now she loves all sub-genres of romance and can’t decide which one is her favorite.
Rebecca earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Alaska and was employed in the airline industry for several years before working in her current position as a program manager in a higher education.

I’m so old I can hardly remember a pickup line. And when you get to be my age, you don’t get them hurled at you any longer, either. My babies are having babies of their own, so I’m not even around that scene any longer. But I do have a few exceptional, colorful memories.
In the 1960’s and 1970’s pick up lines were very simple. The favorite pick up line in my day would have been, “I have some really good shit.” The guy would wiggle his eyebrows. I’d notice his pupils were dilated and I’d declare him truthful.
My answer always was, “Really?”
But I remember well the one line the football player I would not sleep with (he later went on to play for the Kansas City Chiefs) liked to use on me, until he got tired of waiting, “We’d be so good together.” Oh, I knew it would feel good, and he did have the moves, and liked to demonstrate them masterfully. But I couldn’t handle the guy’s hairy chest and all the gold chains. Not to mention, I didn’t have the guts to tell him he smelled like a jockstrap.
One guy I dated casually was 6’11, and he also played professional basketball and sported two championship rings. He had been dating a girl barely five feet. I turned the tables on him before we started dating, using this line, “I saw you walk in that night, with your arm on her shoulder, and my friend and me said, ‘If there ever was a physical impossibility, that’s got to be it.’” He gave me a very nice smile and blushed (yes, this big guy cried on the court and blushed when I was too direct with him, which I later did all the time), when he answered me back,
“Well, it’s not.”

Suzie T. Roos
Hello everyone!
I honestly do not have many stories about great pick-up lines. I do have one.
It begins back in (since I like to time-hop) 1989! No joke! This is a true story that only a few know.
So when I was 15 years old I was introduced to an older guy. He was seventeen. I was really living on the edge!
We were introduced by mutual friends back in high school. This was not among my usual group of friends, but this seventeen year old senior made my shy 15 year old self feel welcomed. Not to mention he was hot. Like a young Tom Cruise but built like a football player.
This senior asked if I wanted to play a game of table tennis, ping pong. Back then, not sure if bong pong (or whatever it’s called) was around. This was old school, straight-up ping pong. Since I had just quit playing softball, after being on a team for years (I was a pitcher and third basemen) I thought, “Oh why not. This can’t be any harder than a stick hitting a ball! Right?
Well, I was wrong.
This “senior” could give Macaroni (my nickname of John McEnroe) a run for his money. No joke. This senior served the ball so fast I didn’t even see it pass me. Not only was it a fast serve, it was an excellent serve.
Okay, that told me what I was dealing with.
So, in our game of table tennis he’s absolutely creaming me and says . . . are ya ready? This is the pick-up line. Hold your panties. This is a good one. Take a deep breath.
As he prepares to serve faster than the speed of light, he says, “You know I used to be the Missouri State Ping Pong Champion?”
Now . . . you may say, “Oh come on . . . how terrible is that? Is that even a pick up line?” And you would be correct. It was terrible, but it was a pick-up line. It’s the truth.
But I, at the age of fifteen, didn’t realize it was a real bona fide pick-up line.
With my hand on my fifteen year old hip, I said, “What? No. Really?”
No joke I considered it.
For the simple fact, I never saw the ball go past me!! Now, again, this is because I played ball. How could this be soo difficult for me? How could it have been that much harder than softball? He must have been the Missouri State Ping Pong Champ!!
And to this day, that “senior” still gives me the best one-liners! He’s my husband. And has been since 1996 when we finally got married.
My husband of 18 yrs, and a total relationship of 26 years long, will still feed me the best cheesy lines.
No matter how stupid, or corny, or cheesy, or just down right stupid his one-liners are, he still makes me laugh. I LOVE that about him. I suppose his “pick-up line” worked!
